ThrowFarther was started in the fall of 1999 by the throws crew at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. Mike Koenning and Mike Seifert started the site as a resource to provide throwing video clips online.  ThrowFarther was one of the first extensive collections of throwing videos on the web and has been known as one of the most popular names in the online throwing world since.  The original site was composed of donated video clips and articles from throwers and throwing fans from around the world.  Many of the original throwing clips on ThrowFarther.com were sent to us by throwers and coaches on VHS tapes which we then converted to .avi and .mpeg formats for online usage.  ThrowFarther truly is the result of the collective efforts of many throwing fans.

In April 2007 the ThrowFarther 2.0 website was rebuilt using modernized web technology with the intent of taking advantage of new Web 2.0 concepts.  ThrowFarther was again recently rebuilt in January of 2009 to its current form with greatly improved software.  The new ThrowFarther website is continuing with the original intent of being a collaborative effort and compilation of throws and throwing related media.

ThrowFarther has been designed for throwers from around the world to easily contribute and share their throwing related videos, pictures and materials.
